Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEBGHGH FIFIJKJK FFFFFLFL

Oh I've ridden 'em rough an' I've ridden 'em kindA
Brumbies and prads well bredB
Of every colour and every kindA
The old stock rider saidB
I've broken the wild Blanchwater coltsC
An' Walers from down Noo SouthD
An' every sort that bucks or boltsC
With every sort of mouthD
-
An' I thought I knew the musterin' gameE
Right thro' from A to ZF
An' every sort of nag you'd nameE
The old stock rider saidB
I've wheeled 'em up in the Queensland scrubG
An' tailed 'em back o' BourkeH
To skite in many an old bush pubG
I was master of all bush workH
-
But musterin' cattle be aeroplanesF
What profit does it bringI
An' I don't see how a bushman gainsF
For it ain't a natural thingI
Soaring' and roarin' an' rampin' roundJ
In a rackety tin machineK
When a natural horse on natural groundJ
Beats all yer keraseenK
-
I suppose it's progress as they sayF
But the thing's against all lawsF
So I'm saddlin' up an' I'm off awayF
Where they ain't got them gee gawsF
For I got no time for aeroplanesF
But a prad with a good kind eyeL
An' the press o' the knee and the feel of the reinsF
Is my game till I dieL
