Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFG AAAAH A AAAAAIA AJA KCA

Mr Fitzmickle the martinetA
Stern lord of his house and kinB
Is a small bald man and a cricket fanC
Since the night he listened inB
On his young son's set one winter mornD
Now his Test complex grows tirelessE
But his small meek wife tends a lonely lifeF
And the small son mourns his wirelessG
-
Mr Fitzmickle the martinetA
Was met at his door last nightA
By the low voiced maid whose eye betrayedA
A state of chronic frightA
And Mary stammered in nervous tonesH
'Mum Madam's took a chill sir '-
Fitzmickle gasped 'What's that ' he askedA
Said Mary 'Madam's ill sir '-
-
Mr Fitzmickle the martinetA
Clutched at his brow and groanedA
His face grew white in the evening lightA
'Oh this is the end ' he moanedA
'All hope has gone ' But Mary saidA
'Please sir don't look so sad sirI
A 'eadache's wot the missus gotA
Don't fret She ain't that bad sir '-
-
Mr Fitzmickle the martinetA
Glared as his voice came backJ
Glared at the maid 'You mumbling jadeA
Wretch You deserve the sack '-
'But sir ' 'Enough Can't you speak plainK
'Madam '' He raved like a madmanC
'Out of my sight Lord What a frightA
I thought that you said 'Bradman' '-
