Landlubbers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDBEEB FGHGIBEEB AJKJDBLLB FMNMNBJJB

I nigh drops dead the bo'sun saidA
When the gist of things I gripB
In the land by these 'ere Southern seasC
As I seen on my long last tripB
They seems a joke them curious folkD
Wot bides at the blue sea's lipB
Whose wealth is made in a world wide tradeE
Landlubbers all wot seems afraidE
For they ain't got a deep sea shipB
-
No they ain't got a deep sea ship they ain'tF
For their 'earts ain't with the blueG
Tho' they claims the seed of the tough sea breedH
Like Drake an' me an' youG
On their isle sea girt they farms the dirtI
Of a fertile coastal stripB
But they seems afraid of a sea borne tradeE
An' the hauls their British fathers madeE
For they ain't got a deep sea shipB
-
Sea born an' bred the bo'sun saidA
As man an' boy I beenJ
Nigh every place on earth's broad faceK
An' all the seas atweenJ
But I ne'er 'ave spoke such curious folkD
As I seen on this 'ere tripB
Who seeks for marts in furrin partsL
Yet for blue water have no heartsL
For they ain't got a deep sea shipB
-
No they ain't got a deep sea ship they ain'tF
An' it don't seem like they careM
For they 'ands the job to any ole yobN
Wot makes a landfall thereM
In tramp an' tub they ships their grubN
Aw it fair gives me the pipB
They've wool an' wine an' corn an' kineJ
An' the carryin' trade would suit 'em fineJ
But they ain't got a deep sea shipB
