'ksmith' Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC CCDDEE CCFFGG HIJJKKHoping you will not deem it rude | A |
I'd like to call an interlude | A |
In our remarkable array | B |
Of leading statesmen of the day | B |
And introduce to you forthwith | C |
That great economist Ksmith | C |
- | |
Not as you might suppose a myth | C |
But very real is Ksmith | C |
For daily in the morning train | D |
I'm privileged to gauge his brain | D |
One glance inside his morning sheet | E |
And he has grasped it all complete | E |
- | |
He lays it down and then in wrath | C |
To patient travellers he holds forth | C |
No question that the times involve | F |
No problem is there he can't solve | F |
One moment's thought and quick as light | G |
Ksmith can put the country right | G |
- | |
Surely a statesman's wasted here | H |
And I suggest in nervous fear | I |
That we might move to elevate | J |
Ksmith on high to guide the State | J |
Then we'd be saved And I might see | K |
Less of Ksmith That would suit me | K |
