January 2nd Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBA CCDDC EEFFE GGBBG

How many have you broken up till nowA
I know that yesterday you made a vowA
And most solemnly 'twas spokenB
But how many have you brokenB
Oh you kept 'em for an hour or two But HowA
-
You swore at twelve o'clock or thereaboutsC
Most resolutely scorning any doubtsC
That the glad New Year would find youD
With your vices all behind youD
And you'd be the very best of good boy scoutsC
-
But you fell And oh how quickly did you fallE
And now you're feeling low and mean and smallE
For despite all your devisingF
You have come to realisingF
That you're really only human after allE
-
Ah well at least you had the will to tryG
And you may reform some day before you dieG
And there's this small consolationB
On the road to reformationB
There's another New Year coming by and byG
