Sun Day is a simple childA
Face new washed and shiningB
In the morning prim and mildA
Church and mid day diningB
If before the shadows fallC
You should find him goingB
Out to romp or play at ballC
Well well The child is growingB
-
Mon Day is a sulky boyD
He frowns on work and hates itE
Tho' facing life should bring him joyD
He ill appreciates itE
But Tues Day is a bright young manF
Alert well dressed oh veryG
Snatching pleasure where he canF
Giving girls 'the merry '-
-
Wednes Day stout and middle agedH
Seems hard pressed and harriedI
On grave affairs is he engagedH
And very much he's marriedI
He holds severe and stubborn viewsJ
'Young folk sir Trouble breeders '-
He scans the day's financial newsJ
And always reads the leadersK
-
Thurs Day tho' his hair be scantL
Is bouyant bland and jollyG
Tho' elderly he's tolerantM
Of many a minor follyG
He owns a city business whereN
He sits 'in consultation'F
But all his grey haired pals declareN
That golf's his occupationF
-
Old Fri Day grins a toothless grinF
A grandfer stooped and shrunkenF
His chest his cheeks are caving inF
His dim old eyes deep sunkenF
Yet tho' he sit and moan and mopeO
All spent and worn with workingB
Oft times a cunning gleam of hopeO
In his old eyes seems lurkingB
-
In Satur Day one might expectP
To find a wreck fast dyingB
Yet here's a lusty stripling deckedP
For holiday a cryingB
To merry friends in eager tonesQ
All bound for playing spacesR
Or else his favorite he 'phonesR
And takes her to the racesR
