Ignoramus Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE FGFGHCHB IJIJKEK

What crass abysmal ignorance ForlornA
Despite his looks the man must be half wittedB
They gasped for air they gazed on him in scornA
And tried to think of epithets that fittedC
Clown Dolt Unlettered oaf And yet some sparkD
Of clear intelligence seemed in his bearingE
Men called him clever But his one remarkD
His only one had left them gaping staringE
-
Long had they argued first this one then thatF
Sedately quietly gravely polemicG
No voice was raised each had the subject patF
A weighty matter almost academicG
But he had said no word but sat and readH
A book by Einstein while the rest disputedC
A hand supporting his fine massive headH
And seemed to be all that he was reputedB
-
And still they talked and talked till some one stoppedI
Searching for words and so the thread was brokenJ
Then he looked up and then the bomb was droppedI
As joining the discussion he had spokenJ
His long white finger marking still his placeK
Upon the page he read the question rollingE
Prim and precise he said with smiling faceK
'Excuse me but er what IS body bowling '-
