Ideal And Aftermath Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDED AFAFDDCD AGAGHICI AJAJCICI

I wed him because he looked nice said sheA
And I feared to be left on the shelfB
For I wouldn't take mother's advice said sheA
So I've no one to blame but myselfB
My friends always said that he had a flat headC
And a curious cranial kinkD
But I feel 'neath the spell of his lovely marcelE
Now he's bald and he's taken to drinkD
-
I wed him because he looked slim said sheA
And athletic and noble and braveF
I thought there was no one like him said sheA
For he really knew how to behaveF
Now he's humble and meek and whenever I speakD
He cringes and crawls like a tykeD
Tho' bay windowed in front he's the soul of a runtC
And I bully him just as I likeD
-
I wed him because he looked sweet said sheA
Of manhood my very idealG
I thought that my bliss was complete said sheA
I could hardly believe he was realG
But he's real right enough tho' not quite of the stuffH
I'd imagined the day I said 'Yes'I
But I hardly mind that tho' he's bald and he's fatC
And slovenly too in his dressI
-
I wed him for better or worse said sheA
When with love I was slightly insaneJ
But there's ne'er a regret that I nurse said sheA
For I've really small cause to complainJ
For I'm fifty and fat and my arches are flatC
And I grumble and fidget and fussI
Yet he thought me he said a dream child when we wedC
So it's just fifty fifty with usI
