Hitting It Up With Hitler Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBDB CBEBFBF GGHGIBJB KLALMBNB

Now who in the world can understandA
Since Tyranny Freedom's whittlerB
And the strong arm band of the Iron HandA
Go hitting it up with HitlerB
Who can pretend to comprehendC
This curious law and orderB
When generals dropp as the guns go popD
And the princes streak for the borderB
-
Where is the end when friend slays friendC
And the Factious rave and thunderB
When trial denied high chiefs have diedE
And various 'vons' gone underB
When the President vows he will resignF
And then somehow or otherB
Is moved to sign a note benignF
Saying 'Well done brave brother '-
-
Man scarcely needs such trivial deedsG
As Dillinger's or Capone'sG
When a leader rash with a funny moustacheH
Goes bumping off his croniesG
Putting the lot right on the spotI
While the common people shiverB
Lest a word ill said bring a crack on the headJ
Or a pellet of lead in the liverB
-
Quiet homes aflood in a bath of bloodK
Where else in the world could it happenL
Save in the land of that queer named bandA
Like Roehm and Jung and PapenL
Is it all a fight for Freedom's rightM
Or for Tyranny Freedom's whittlerB
When the Blackshirts shout and the gangs go outN
Hitting it up with HitlerB
