'Haw Good fellow I'm not doubting	A
Your intentions are all right	B
And your general appearance	C
Is intelligent and bright	B
But the question you're discussing	A
Rather flicks me on the raw	D
And it really doesn't matter	E
So we'll close the subject Haw '	F
	-
Since the every first reformer	E
Made suggestions in the trees	G
All the old earth's agitators	H
Meet with phrases such as these	G
And it acts as brake and hobble	I
On the progress of mankind	J
This superior aloofness	K
Of the static type of mind	J
	-
'Haw ' It rings throughout the ages	L
Since dim neolithic years	M
Striving to discount the credit	N
Of philosophers and seers	O
And the richest fattest molluse	O
Spat it out in savage hate	P
When he marked his fellow's yearning	A
Towards a structure vertebrate	P

'My good chap enthusiasm's	O
Right enough just now and then	Q
But your pose is idiotic	R
In the sight of sober men	Q
Calm yourself my worthy fellow	S
Stay that wildly wagging jaw	T
The ah mattah you're debating	A
Isn't on the tapis Haw '	-
	-
Spoken in a haughty fashion	U
With an apathetic glance	O
Then that simple interjection	U
Clothes a mass of ignorance	O
'Haw The fellow is a boundah	P
Do not heed his fuss and fret	P
And the subject he alludes to	P
Isn't mentioned in our set '	-
	-
Friend if you have privileges	O
Fairly come by more or less	O
And the claims of poorer brothers	O
Cause you most acute distress	O
When all argument has failed oyu	V
'Gainst their Socialistic law	T
Cultivate the distant manner	E
And the haughty Tory 'Haw '	-
	-
Cultivate the cool aloofness	O
When they seek with howlings rude	P
To assault your proud position	U
Cultivate the platitude	P
And when they bring forth suggestions	O
Of a democratic type	W
Tell then friend it is 'un British '	-
And 'the time is not yet ripe '	-
	-
When with calm unswerving reason	U
And with logic merciless	O
They convince your better nature	E
That abuses need redress	O
Do not weakly yield to measures	O
That your prejudices hate	P
But remark 'It's not at issue '	-
And that closes the debate	P

Still my friend despite your coldness	O
'Spite reactionary 'Haws '	-
These reformers somehow get there	X
When they have a worthy cause	O
And the fat and foolish molluse	O
Who the vertebrates ignored	P
Did not block all evolution	U
So the scientists record	P
	-
As the world goes bravely onward	P
Leaving molluses far behind	P
Progress ever has to reckon	U
With the static type of mind	P
And the fighters in the vanguard	P
Recognise this simple law	T
'Social evolution mainly	Y
Is the overthrow of 'Haw '	-
