Galloping Horses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCD EEFFGGDD HHIICD JJKKLLCDDD

Oh this is the week when no rhymster may rhymeA
On the joy of the bush or the ills of the timeA
Nor pour out his soul in delectable rhythmB
Of women and wine and the lure they have with 'emB
Nor pen philosophic if foolish discoursesC
Because of the fury of galloping horsesD
-
Galloping galloping thro' the refrainE
The lure and the lilt of it beat on the brainE
Strive as you may for Arcadian ThemesF
The silks and the saddles will weave thro' your dreamsF
Surging and urging the visions asideG
For a lyrical lay of equestrian prideG
For the roar of the race and the call of the coursesD
And galloping galloping galloping horsesD
-
This is the week for the apotheosisH
Of Horse in his glory from tail to proboscisH
That curious quadrupled proud and aloofI
That holds all the land under thrall of his hoofI
All creeds and conditions all factions and forcesC
All all must give way to the galloping horsesD
-
Galloping galloping sinner and saintJ
March to the metre releasing restraintJ
If it isn't the Cup it's the Oaks or the SteepleK
That wraps in its magic the minds of the peopleK
Whether they seek it for profit or pleasureL
They all willy nilly must dance to the measureL
The mood of the moment in all men endorsesC
The glamorous game and the galloping horsesD
Galloping horses jockeys and coursesD
They gallop we gallop with galloping horsesD
