Fred Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCE FGFGHIHI JKJKLMLM ININAIAI

Do you know Fred Now there's a man to knowA
These days when politics are in the airB
An' argument is bargin' to an' froA
Without a feller gittin' anywhereB
Fred never argues he's too shrewd for thatC
He's wise He knows the game from A to ZD
All politics is talkin' thro' the hatC
An' everyone is wrong exceptin' FredE
-
Fred says there ain't no sense in politicsF
Says he can't waste his time on all that rotG
Trust him He's up to all their little tricksF
You'd be surprised the cunnin' schemes he's gotG
Fred says compulsory voting is a cowH
He has to vote or else he would be finedI
But he just spoils his paper anyhowH
An' laughs at' em with his superior mindI
-
But when a law comes in that hits Fred's purseJ
You ought to hear him then Say he does rouseK
Kicks up an awful row an' hurls his curseJ
On every bloomin' member in the HouseK
He gives 'em nothin' says they all are crookL
All waitin' for a chance to turn their coatsM
Says they are traitors proves it by the bookL
An' can you wonder that he never votesM
-
Aw say you must know Fred You'll hear his skiteI
Upon street corners all about the placeN
An' if you up an' say it serves him rightI
He answers that it only proves his caseN
Them politicians wouldn't tax him soA
Unless they were all crooked like he saidI
Where is the sense in votin' when they goA
An' rob a man like that Hurray for FredI
