By country roads to far abodes | A |
To ease some sufferer's plight | F |
Thro' fire and flood and tempest | G |
They make their pilgrimage | H |
To bring release and healing peace | A |
The comforters of age | I |

Those modern country doctors | A |
They do not advertise | A |
Surcease they bring for suffering | J |
And hope to pain filled eyes | A |
These be their ends to be man's friends | A |
And so they shape and plan | K |
Divorced from greed to serve man's need | L |
And give their lives to man | K |

Those quiet country doctors | A |
Unsung unknown to fame | M |
Refusing none what may be done | N |
In skilful healing's name | M |
Philosophers friends mentors | A |
Thro' pain and death and birth | O |
