Consummation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDD AAAAAA EFEFGG DADAHH

They may be duds or they may be dronesA
Or legislators heaven sentB
But the A L P for all atonesA
When it gets them into ParliamentC
Tho' they talk sheer drivel once they're thereD
Our job is done Why should we careD
-
-
They may be mild or they may be redsA
Or 'has beens' who have missed the busA
But the simple job of counting headsA
Is all that matters much to usA
And the job we do with wondrous easeA
Is the mas production of M P'sA
-
-
So why blame us in peevish gloomE
And charge us with this grievous sinF
They may involve the land in doomE
But our job's done we've got 'em inF
As from the pod come peas all greenG
We turn 'em out with our machineG
-
-
They may be robots built with careD
Or silly sheep or crazy goatsA
But once they're tied and branded thereD
They art no longer men but votesA
Thus we our glorious aim achieveH
And triumph tho' the nation grieveH
