Colac Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE BGHGIJKL MNOPBQRQ BSTSMUVU DWRWDKXK

A lady plump and pleasingA
And generous and freeB
Her life is spent in sleek contentC
Beside her inland seaB
And round its pleasant watersD
Her pastures rich and greenE
Their treasures yield from many a fieldF
To make her way sereneE
-
A placid laughing ladyB
And prone to placid waysG
But yet withal she heeds the callH
f labor all her daysG
Of kind congenial laborI
That holds nor fret nor stressJ
A farmer's wife whose busy lifeK
Brings full free happinessL
-
Men say the ocean coveredM
These fields in some dim ageN
And seas long fled vast riches spreadO
To be the heritageP
Of this plump AphroditeB
Now risen from the waveQ
To thrive apace and wax in graceR
On all the wealth they gaveQ
-
A happy hearty ladyB
She turns the gift to goodS
And wins in toil from this rich soilT
A fine fat livelihoodS
Now where seas long since thunderedM
Her cars ply up and downU
To evidence sound thrift and senseV
In Colac's smiling townU
-
Her land of lakes and pasturesD
Could never harbor hereW
In this lush place a dour hard raceR
Wed to an outlook drearW
And so she smiles and prospersD
A happy hearty wifeK
Whose ample charms whose thriving farmsX
Reveal her zest in lifeK
