Cherchez La Femme Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF

The Chinese are an old old raceA
In mystic lore exceeding wiseB
Accustomed thro' the year to traceA
Their nation's fortunes in the skiesB
-
No mere male deity can shakeC
Their stolid and celestial calmD
Saturn nor Jupiter can wakeC
Their fear or cause the slightest qualmD
-
But now in trembling fear they goE
Such is their knowledge of the starsF
When Venus threatens well they knowE
She's far more dangerous than MarsF
