Bushmen Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEFGHGH IJIJKLKL DMDMNKNK

Rugged men and tough men theseA
Men of the lonely waysB
Hard and sturdy as their treesA
Where the timbered ranges raiseB
Their ragged crests to rake the skyC
For the call has come againD
As oft it came in the years gone byC
And the Bush sends forth her menD
-
-
Silent men with eyes alertE
Tramping the hillside steepF
Where the giant trees at the mountain's skirtE
Their lonely vigil keepF
Fighting their way where the tangled fernG
Covers an ancient trackH
Plying the lore that the bushmen learnG
Thro' the lonely years outbackH
-
-
The men of the forest are out once moreI
Searching early and lateJ
As they searched thro' many a day beforeI
For many a missing mateJ
Or a wandering stranger gone astrayK
In the land of the towering treeL
That has become for all todayK
The land of tragedyL
-
-
And while the task is a task for menD
Ne'er will they call a stopM
They will tramp the wild bushland againD
And tramp until they dropM
With never a thought for the hours ill sparedN
From the labor of the dayK
To the men of the forest whom fate has daredN
There's nought but to obeyK
