Asking Too Much Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAA AAB CCDD EEAA DDDD

You can't expect it Goodness meA
T'would be a dreadful policyA
What sort of Ministerial dunceA
Would try to do two things at onceA
-
How can they deal with city needsA
While Bungalong or Rooville pleadsA
For culverts and Wow wow grows sickB
Through want of bridges o'er its 'crick '-
-
The logic of the thing's so plainC
To legislate on tram and trainC
Can't dig a single blighted spudD
Or help one milker chew her cudD
-
Then what's the use One might say moreE
What are our legislators forE
Such vaunted measures as DefenceA
Won't build a single dog leg fenceA
-
Your splendid dreams of nationhoodD
Don't do the cocky any goodD
Besides there's something more than thatD
They're apt to interfere with FatD
