Arch Criminal Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAABCDCCE FFFBGGGB HIHHIJKJJK LLLLMMML

When muddled mentors take the stageA
To gird against our erringB
They simulate an awful rageA
They funk the task and straight engageA
A palpable red herringB
Fearing at higher marks to aimC
The futile knuckle rapperD
With flaming words of bitter blameC
Plays at the rather outworn gameC
Of 'Flagellate the Flapper 'E
-
Altho' my sweet you may be neatF
And winsome too from head to feetF
In face and form a nymph completeF
In manner softly winningB
One touch of powder Number TwoG
And heaven's gates are closed to youG
Tho' still ajar for those who doG
This sad world's heavy sinningB
-
The man whose greed outstrips his needH
While lesser folk deplore itI
Is due for stern rebukes indeedH
Yet gently brother Why give heedH
To this Be wise ignore itI
For lo this fellow may be richJ
Of social rank delectableK
For bwetter curn the urgent itchJ
To censure lest you hurt him whichJ
Would hardly be repectableK
-
So precious pet they'd fain forgetL
Sins of the mighty while they fretL
O'er lip stick rouge and cigaretteL
And graver sinning palliateL
As Public Enemy you rankM
Now No for those who shrankM
Ever from bigger game and thankM
Their stars you can't retaliateL
