Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEDEFE GHIHJKJK K LMLMNHNHOH PQRSTSTFT

Where have the old accorjins goneA
I was askin' the coves at the ShowB
Matt from the Mallee an' Dandenong DonC
An' a score of the fellers I knowB
Ole fellers like me an' they're missin' 'em soreD
For this wireless it never makes upE
For the merry ole music we knowed of yoreD
When Brindle was a pupE
As they puts itF
An' Bravo collared the CupE
-
Where are the old accorjins nowG
Like me father used to playH
Times when we rested from harrers an' ploughsI
An' we made rare holidayH
Or Accorjin Alf poor half wit cootJ
To the bush dance used to comeK
An' beat the time with his hobnail bootJ
Like the top of an big bass drumK
'Ladies' Chain '-
Keep time to the top o' the drumK
-
Pipe in the sou' west side of his mouthL
Hat on the back of his headM
Alf 'ud be there come flood come drouthL
For the dance in the shearin' shedM
Leaky bellers an' keys all brokeN
Reeds near wearin' awayH
But they put the ginger into a blokeN
Them toons as he used to playH
Hum a coupleO
Reel toons of an older dayH
-
'Hie to the Weddin'' an' 'Belle Mahone '-
'Wait Till the Clouds Roll by'P
An' me an' yer ma crep' out aloneQ
Out under the starlit skyR
Aw jazz an' the wireless things like theseS
Is a wonder to men alrightT
But gimme that ole accorjin's wheezeS
An' the bush and a starlit nightT
Kin yeh hear itF
A mopoke's call in the nightT
