A Quest For Tophet Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEAF GHGHIJIJGJ ABABKFKFAF LMLMNDNDLD

'Twas a hell of a Hell they glimpsed my sonA
In superstitious daysB
When cultured man had scarce begunA
To shed barbaric waysB
With gridirons set above the flameC
For naughty gentlemenD
Who uttered lies that earned them blameC
And righteous folk condemnE
'Twas a terrible sort of a Hell my sonA
That crude man pictured thenF
-
But picture a land laid waste my ladG
In scientific styleH
While supermen of a world gone madG
Plan forms of torture vileH
While innocent children fight for breathI
In a gas filled city's streetJ
And mothers of men call on kind DeathI
As a friend whose kiss is sweetJ
If you're looking about for a Hell my ladG
You will find this hard to beatJ
-
'Twas the deuce of a Devil they raised my sonA
To rule in their ancient HellsB
Horns and a tail yet a figure of funA
With a hint of the cap and bellsB
With a fork for weapon he roamed the earthK
To garner the souls of menF
Who had slipped from grace and with shouts of mirthK
He pitched them into his PenF
'Twas a humorous sort of a Devil my sonA
That dull folk fled from thenF
-
But picture a Devil at work my boyL
In his foetid chemical lairM
As he brews Hell broths with a ghoulish joyL
To foul god's clean sweet airM
Picture a Devil with bombs on highN
Mass murderer reeking sinD
As he rains gaunt death from a smiling skyN
And goes with a maniac grinD
If you're seeking a Devil sans mercy boyL
He is here 'neath your Brother's skinD
