I was walking by the seaA
With my precious bag of goldB
A sight came upon my eyes to beA
A sight to beholdB
-
It was a strange manC
Walking on the waterD
And upon seeing me he ranC
To me without falterD
-
He said to me to followE
And run on the seaA
And I said I couldn t do it thenF
I would sink you seeA
-
He said that You won t sinkG
Unless you are weighed downH
Drop your gold and you won t be heavyA
And come run with meA
-
I gasped and turned awayI
Clutching my precious goldB
And I said I ll never give it to youJ
It is my livelihoodK
-
He sighed and said NoE
I don t want your goldB
It would weigh me down tooJ
But I run on the seaA
-
Besides he saidL
That isn t goldB
It is the fake the one for a foolM
Fools gold not valuableN
-
I gasped I criedO
I came to life I seemed to dieP
My love my gold my precious brideO
Wasn t true gold of mineQ
But acceptance cameR
And the end of my gameR
I dropped my gold and walked on the seaA
Free for eternityA
