Crinkly, and narrower than ever before
noon light makes for watery squints,
each passing season clarity flints
but wisdom of beauty refined so much more
What is seeing but believing, yes, true to a fault,
things unseen remain in their vault.
Who doubts their own eyes, and goes with their gut
Look out, look outward and open what’s shut
They didn’t protect me, they let everything in!
Death and destruction and ravages keen
Make way the nightmare’s dream
Deafening sightless - oh enviable sin
Once open now averse to vanity’s call
Mirrors now traitors to mind’s inner eyes
sight turns to liar - surprise, surprise.
Covet reflections of ghosts that were walls.
Crinkly, and narrower than ever before
but wisdom of beauty refined so much more
