The Man Who Knows Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB AACC AADD AAEE BBFF

What if there were a man who knew your last dayA
What witchcraft is this What sorcery at playA
No one knows this I beg thus nor can heB
Confound him his devilish trickeryB
-
What if there were a man who knew your last dayA
Scream and insist that he go awayA
Push your fist into his deathly faceC
Force him to disavow this disgraceC
-
But what if there were a man who knew your last dayA
Cajole him press him do whatever you mayA
Implore him away some tropical tripD
Pay for his silence a gold coin on each lipD
-
What if there were a man who knew your last dayA
Stealer of hope no future to stayA
Why my day I never asked for this newsE
Alas I now become his morbid museE
-
And if he really knew when your soul would be freeB
What a curiosity what a marvel he d beB
He may be forthcoming he may tell you a lieF
Whatever whichever in the end we all dieF
