In a world where leaders are sought,
Now a once-revered head distraught.
Bound by fading yearnings, so frail,
Trapped by desires, his own trail.
A bowing heart, its will prevails,
Ignoring reason, its wisdom ails.
In this scene, I stand, amazed,
Speechless, my words fail, dazed.
Gazing at one I once admired,
Passionate soul, now tired, mired.
Won't time reveal its revealing light,
When my chance to shine is in sight?
Growing to great heights, so vast,
Only to stoop, a fate amassed.
How do we surrender, in the end,
To forces that make us condescend?

Poet's note: This poem was written on 19th of June, 2023 and, the inspiration came due to a discussion I had with my mentor. It is written for every leader out who have people looking up to them and also to every follower out there. This poem means the fall of some leaders and how they end up doing those things they stand again, it means there is a need to be steadfast and for followers to look up to the right people.
