Sonnet Xiv Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCEFGFGHHOH crystal eyes in which my image lay | A |
While I was near as in a fountain's wave | B |
Let it not in like manner pass away | A |
When I am gone for I am Love's true slave | B |
And in my eyes thine image dwells enshrined | C |
Like one who dazzled hath beheld the sun | D |
So that to other beauty I am blind | C |
And scarce distinguish what I gaze upon | E |
Let it be thus with thee By all our vows | F |
By the true token ring upon thy hand | G |
Let such remembrance as my worth allows | F |
Between thee and each bright temptation stand | G |
That I in those clear orbs on my return | H |
As in the wave's green depth my shadow may discern | H |
