Grizzly Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABBCCDDEEE EEFGFGHHIIJKLJLJMM

Coward of heroic sizeA
In whose lazy muscles liesA
Strength we fear and yet despiseA
Savage whose relentless tusksB
Are content with acorn husksB
Robber whose exploits ne'er soaredC
O'er the bee's or squirrel's hoardC
Whiskered chin and feeble noseD
Claws of steel on baby toesD
Here in solitude and shadeE
Shambling shuffling plantigradeE
Be thy courses undismayedE
-
Here where Nature makes thy bedE
Let thy rude half human treadE
Point to hidden Indian springsF
Lost in ferns and fragrant grassesG
Hovered o'er by timid wingsF
Where the wood duck lightly passesG
Where the wild bee holds her sweetsH
Epicurean retreatsH
Fit for thee and better thanI
Fearful spoils of dangerous manI
In thy fat jowled deviltryJ
Friar Tuck shall live in theeK
Thou mayst levy tithe and doleL
Thou shalt spread the woodland cheerJ
From the pilgrim taking tollL
Match thy cunning with his fearJ
Eat and drink and have thy fillM
Yet remain an outlaw stillM
