Love Guides Us Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF BGBG

Love guides our bark and we have naught to fearA
We are the world ourselves and as we glideB
Upon the stream of life if Love but steerA
We care not how tempestuous the tideB
-
Thy head leans on my shoulder and my armC
Is round thee clasped Thine eyes upturn to mineD
So full of faith the future feels their charmC
Blunting Fate's dart that threatens joy of thineD
-
O Love thy tresses wind about my senseE
Thy glances melt my soul and thy ripe lipsF
Seem morning roses red and dewy whenceE
The bee of love a draught of nectar sipsF
-
Float on float on upon the crystal tideB
Our company these snowy swans that seemG
Our mirrored souls pure love personifiedB
Float on nor ever waken from our dreamG
