Equality Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAA ACAC DEDE FGFG HIHI JKJK LMLM

Mad fools To think that men can beA
Made equal all when GodB
Made one well nigh divinityA
And one a soulless clodA
-
Nowhere in Nature can we findA
Things equal save in deathC
One man must rule with thoughtful mindA
One serve with panting breathC
-
The maples spread their foliage greenD
To shade the grass belowE
Hills rise the lowly vales betweenD
Or streams would never flowE
-
A million creatures find a homeF
Within a droplet's sphereG
And giants through the woodlands roamF
While quakes the land in fearG
-
A tiny fall in music breaksH
Against the mountain's baseI
While roars an avalanche and shakesH
The whole world in its raceI
-
One must be weak and one be strongJ
One huge another smallK
To help this teeming world alongJ
And make a home for allK
-
Equality is death not lifeL
In Nature and with manM
And progress is but upward strifeL
With some one in the vanM
