'Down in yonder greene fieldC
There lies a knight slain under his shieldC
-
'His hounds they lie down at his feetD
So well they can their master keepE
-
'His hawks they flie so eagerlyA
There 's no fowl dare come him nigh '-
-
Down there comes a fallow doeF
As great with young as she might goeF

She lift up his bloudy headG
And kist his wounds that were so redG

She gat him up upon her backH
And carried him to earthen lakeB
-
She buried him before the primeI
She was dead herself ere evensong timeI
-
God send every gentlemanJ
Such hounds such hawks and such a lemanJ
