The Streams Of Bunclody Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DEFF GGFF HHIJ KKKK HHLL MMKK

Oh were I at the moss house where the birds do increaseA
At the foot of Mount Leinster or some silent placeB
Near the streams of Bunclody where all pleasures do meetC
And all I'd require is one kiss from you sweetC
-
If I was in Bunclody I would think myself at homeD
'Tis there I would have a sweetheart but here I have noneE
Drinking strong liquor in the height of my cheerF
Here's a health to Bunclody and the lass I love dearF
-
The cuckoo is a pretty bird it sings as it fliesG
It brings us good tidings and tells us no liesG
It sucks the young bird's eggs to make its voice clearF
And it never cries cuckoo till the summer is nearF
-
If I was a clerk and could write a good handH
I would write to my true love that she might understandH
I am a young fellow that is wounded in loveI
That lived by Bunclody but now must removeJ
-
If I was a lark and had wings I then could flyK
I would go to yon arbour where my love she doth lieK
I'd proceed to yon arbour where my love she does lieK
And on her fond bosom contented I would dieK
-
The reason my love slights me as you may understandH
Because she has a freehold and I have no landH
She has a great store of riches and a large sum of goldL
And everything fitting a house to upholdL
-
So adieu my dear father adieu my dear motherM
Farewell to my sister farewell to my brotherM
I'm going to America my fortune for to tryK
When I think upon Bunclody I'm ready for to dieK
