Little By Little Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEFF GGHH BBII JJKK LLBBHH MMGGNN

Little by little an acorn saidA
As it slowly sank in its mossy bedA
I am improving every dayB
Hidden deep in the earth awayB
-
Little by little each day it grewC
Little by little it sipped the dewC
Downward it sent out a thread like rootD
Up in the air sprung a tiny shootD
-
Day after day and year after yearE
Little by little the leaves appearE
And the slender branches spread far and wideF
Till the mighty oak is the forest's prideF
-
Far down in the depths of the dark blue seaG
An insect train work ceaselesslyG
Grain by grain they are building wellH
Each one alone in its little cellH
-
Moment by moment and day by dayB
Never stopping to rest or to playB
Rocks upon rocks they are rearing highI
Till the top looks out on the sunny skyI
-
The gentle wind and the balmy airJ
Little by little bring verdure thereJ
Till the summer sunbeams gayly smileK
On the buds and the flowers of the coral isleK
-
Little by little said a thoughtful boyL
Moment by moment I'll well employL
Learning a little every dayB
And not spending all my time in playB
And still this rule in my mind shall dwellH
Whatever I do I will do it wellH
-
Little by little I'll learn to knowM
The treasured wisdom of long agoM
And one of these days perhaps we'll seeG
That the world will be the better for meG
And do you not think that this simple planN
Made him a wise and useful manN

"Little by little":an acorn said
As it slowly sank in it's mossy bed
I am improving every day
Hidden deep in the earth away

Little by little ; each day it grew
Little by little ;it sipped the dew
Downward it send a thread-like root
Up in the air sprang a tiny shoot

Day after day;and year after year
Little by little the leaves appear
And the slender branches spread far and wide
Till the mighty oak is the forest's pride

"Little by little": said a thoughtful boy
Each precious moment I will well employ
And always this rule my mind shall dwell:
"Whatever I do I will do it well"

"Little by little"I learn to know
The treasured wisdom of long ago,
And one of these day, perhaps will see
The world will be the better for me
