Bunhill-s Fields Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFG HIJK LMJN OPQR

Under cool trees the City tombsA
extend and nearer lieB
stones above Blake's and Bunyan's bonesC
to Vivian's working days than IB
-
Since he is gentle wild and goodD
as you were peaceable ShadesE
there may he go within your careF
as in my heart his love residesG
-
Such a care as held unharmedH
the tree within the fireI
spread wings like those that ledJ
Tobias in the dangerous shireK
-
And if I fear his death too muchL
let me not learn more faithM
by sad trial of what I dreadJ
nor grieve him by my own deathN
-
For our faith is one which mayO
convert but not consoleP
we shall not except by our own willQ
part for ever in the gape of hellR
