For A Naughty Little Girl Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCE FGFG HIHI JKLK MBNB

My sweet little girl should be cheerful and mildA
She must not be fretful and cryB
Oh why is this passion remember my childA
GOD sees you who lives in the skyB
-
That dear little face that I like so to kissC
How alter'd and sad it appearsD
Do you think I can love you so naughty as thisC
Or kiss you all wetted with tearsE
-
Remember though GOD is in Heaven my loveF
He sees you within and withoutG
And always looks down from His glory aboveF
To notice what you are aboutG
-
If I am not with you or if it be darkH
And nobody is in the wayI
His eye is as able your doings to markH
In the night as it is in the dayI
-
Then dry up your tears and look smiling againJ
And never do things that are wrongK
For I'm sure you must feel it a terrible painL
To be naughty and crying so longK
-
We'll pray then that GOD may your passion forgiveM
And teach you from evil to flyB
And then you'll be happy as long as you liveN
And happy whenever you dieB
