White Rose Day'june 10, 1688 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEDE FCFCDEDE

'Twas a day of faith and flowersA
Of honour that could not dieB
Of Hope that counted the hoursA
Of sorrowing LoyaltyC
And the Blackbird sang in the closesD
The Blackbird piped in the springE
For the day of the dawn of the RosesD
The dawn of the day of the KingE
-
White roses over the heatherF
And down by the Lowland leaC
And far in the faint blue weatherF
A white sail guessed on the seaC
But the deep night gathers and closesD
Shall ever a morning bringE
The lord of the leal white rosesD
The face of the rightful KingE
