Being a Song writ for a lady born on June th the birthday ofA
his Most Sacred Majesty King James III and VIIIA
-
-
Day of the King and the flowerB
And the girl of my heart's delightC
The blackbird sings in the bowerB
And the nightingale sings in the nightC
A song to the roses whiteC
-
Day of the flower and the KingD
When shall the sails of whiteC
Shine on the seas and bringD
In the day in the dawn in the nightC
The King to his land and his rightC
-
Day of my love and my mayE
After the long years' flightC
Born on the King's birthdayE
Born for my heart's delightC
With the dawn of the roses whiteC
-
Black as the blackbird's wingD
Is her hair and her brow as whiteC
As the white rose blossomingD
And her eyes as the falcon's brightC
And her heart is leal to the rightC
-
When shall the joy bells ringD
When shall the hours uniteC
The right with the might of my KingD
And my heart with my heart's delightC
In the dawn in the day in the nightC
