The New Orpheus To His Eurydice Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAB CAAC DEDEDE FF

Why wilt thou woo ah strange EurydiceA
A languid laurell'd Orpheus in the shadesA
For here is company of shadowy maidsA
Hero and Helen and PsamathoeB
-
And life is like the blossom on the treeC
And never tumult of the world invadesA
The low light wanes and waxes flowers and fadesA
And sleep is sweet and dreams suffice for meC
-
Go back and seek the sunlight as of oldD
The wise ghost mother of Odysseus saidE
Here am I half content and scarce a coldD
But one light fits the living one the deadE
Good bye be glad forget thou canst not holdD
In thy kind arms alas this powerless headE
-
When first we heard Rossetti singF
We also wrote this kind of thingF
