The Burial Of Moliere Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCAACDA EFGGGF

Dead he is dead The rouge has left a traceA
On that thin cheek where shone perchance a tearB
Even while the people laughed that held him dearC
But yesterday He died and not in graceA
And many a black robed caitiff starts apaceA
To slander him whose Tartuffe made them fearC
And gold must win a passage for his bierD
And bribe the crowd that guards his resting placeA
-
Ah Moliere for that last time of allE
Man's hatred broke upon thee and went byF
And did but make more fair thy funeralG
Though in the dark they hid thee stealthilyG
Thy coffin had the cope of night for pallG
For torch the stars along the windy skyF
