Silentia Lunae'from Ronsard Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCA DEFGGF

Hide this one night thy crescent kindly MoonA
So shall Endymion faithful prove and restB
Loving and unawakened on thy breastB
So shall no foul enchanter importuneA
Thy quiet course for now the night is boonA
And through the friendly night unseen I fareC
Who dread the face of foemen unawareC
And watch of hostile spies in the bright noonA
-
Thou know'st O Moon the bitter power of LoveD
'Tis told how shepherd Pan found ways to moveE
With a small gift thy heart and of your graceF
Sweet stars be kind to this not alien fireG
Because on earth ye did not scorn desireG
Bethink ye now ye hold your heavenly placeF
