Piscatori Piscator'in Memory Of Thomas Tod Stoddart Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBBDBE FGFGGEGE

An angler to an angler hereA
To one who longed not for the baysB
I bring a little gift and dearC
A line of love a word of praiseB
A common memory of the waysB
By Elibank and Yair that leadD
Of all the burns from all the braesB
That yield their tribute to the TweedE
-
His boyhood found the waters cleanF
His age deplored them foul with dyeG
But purple hills and copses greenF
And these old towers he wandered byG
Still to the simple strains replyG
Of his pure unrepining reedE
Who lies where he was fain to lieG
Like Scott within the sound of TweedE
