Natural Theology Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCBCD EFEFEF

'Once CAGN was like a father kind and goodA
But He was spoiled by fighting many thingsB
He wars upon the lions in the woodA
And breaks the Thunder bird's tremendous wingsB
But still we cry to Him 'We are thy broodC
O Cagn be merciful ' and us He bringsB
To herds of elands and great store of foodC
And in the desert opens water springs 'D
-
So Qing King Nqsha's Bushman hunter spokeE
Beside the camp fire by the fountain fairF
When all were weary and soft clouds of smokeE
Were fading fragrant in the twilit airF
And suddenly in each man's heart there wokeE
A pang a sacred memory of prayerF
