Love The Vampire Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABCCB DDEFFG AAHIIH FFJKKJ LLMNNM

The level sands and greyA
Stretch leagues and leagues awayA
Down to the border line of sky and foamB
A spark of sunset burnsC
The grey tide water turnsC
Back like a ghost from her forbidden homeB
-
Here without pyre or bierD
Light Love was buried hereD
Alas his grave was wide and deep enoughE
Thrice with averted headF
We cast dust on the deadF
And left him to his rest An end of LoveG
-
No stone to roll awayA
No seal of snow or clayA
Only soft dust above his wearied eyesH
But though the sudden soundI
Of Doom should shake the groundI
And graves give up their ghosts he will not riseH
-
So each to each we saidF
Ah but to either bedF
Set far apart in lands of North and SouthJ
Love as a Vampire cameK
With haggard eyes aflameK
And kissed us with the kisses of his mouthJ
-
Thenceforth in dreams must weL
Each other's shadow seeL
Wand'ring unsatisfied in empty landsM
Still the desired faceN
Fleets from the vain embraceN
And still the shape evades the longing handsM
