His Lady's Tomb'from Ronsard Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA AAACCA

As in the gardens all through May the RoseA
Lovely and young and rich apparelledB
Makes sunrise jealous of her rosy redB
When dawn upon the dew of dawning glowsA
Graces and Loves within her breast reposeA
The woods are faint with the sweet odour shedB
Till rains and heavy suns have smitten deadB
The languid flower and the loose leaves uncloseA
-
So this the perfect beauty of our daysA
When heaven and earth were vocal of her praiseA
The fates have slain and her sweet soul reposesA
And tears I bring and sighs and on her tombC
Pour milk and scatter buds of many a bloomC
That dead as living Rose may be with rosesA
