| In windings of some old world dance | B |
| The smiling couples cross and meet | A |
| Join hands and then in line advance | B |
| So to these fair old tunes of France | B |
| Through all their maze of to and fro | C |
| The light heeled numbers laughing go | C |
| Retreat return and ere they flee | D |
| One moment pause in panting row | C |
| And seem to say Vos plaudite | A |
