They both gasped at the thin airA
Gazing at the paintings on the wallB
was everything still thereA
This night was cruelly coldC
Especially for a pairA
when not everything was toldC

One was afraidD
the other felt betrayedD
And the other one outlayedD
A thief in the nightD
or a swindler in the pastD
She felt like an outcastD
-
He was in the middle with no faithE
One plus one wouldn't be threeF
had he been good at mathG
She was at the edge of the bladeD
world torn apart now she'd seeF
in clarity a choice she madeD
