Such Nonsense Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CCDD EEFF GHBB IIJJ KKLM

Where on earth did the idea come from that the ballot is a boon aA
privilege and an honor From men Mrs Prestonia Mann MartinB
-
-
Who is it thinks the vote some useC
Man Man is often such a gooseC
Indeed it makes me laugh to seeD
How men have struggled to be freeD
-
Poor Washington who meant so wellE
And Nathan Hale and William TellE
Hampden and Bolivar and PymF
And L'Ouverture remember himF
-
And Garibaldi and KossuthG
And some who threw away their youthH
All bitten by the stupid notionB
That liberty was worth emotionB
-
They could not get it through their headsI
That if they stayed tucked up in bedsI
Avoiding politics and strifeJ
They'd lead a pleasant peaceful lifeJ
-
Let us dear sisters never makeK
Such a ridiculous mistakeK
But teach our children o'er and o'erL
That liberty is just a choreM
