Spring Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACAC DEDE

'YES Spring has come ' the grocer saidA
And tied a final knot of stringB
Rang up the change and becked his headA
Elated at the breath of SpringB
-
'Yes Spring has come ' the poet saidA
And poured his ecstasy in rhymesC
Which eager homesick exiles readA
Long winter locked in frozen climesC
-
Perhaps the grocer's way was bestD
If joy can better be or worseE
He saved his rapture unexpressedD
The poet spent his for a verseE
