Song In Exile Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAABA AAAAAA CDCEFE

THE rustling palms bend readilyA
Between the sun and meA
The trades blow warm and steadilyA
Across the turquoise seaA
But I'd rather feel the March wind biteB
In the country of the freeA
-
Hibiscus and camelliasA
Bloom here abundantlyA
And roses and gardeniasA
The sweetest flowers there beA
But I'd rather see through the bare north woodsA
One bridal dogwood treeA
-
The tropic light is mellowC
As a lamp in a lighted roomD
The sun shines high and yellowC
In the quivering cloudless domeE
But oh for the snow and the cruel coldF
And the rigors of my homeE
