Invocation Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEDE FGFG HIJI

NIGHT after night within the groveA
The night wind spares the sacred fireB
The breath made visible of loveC
Of worship and desireB
-
I set the tripod at thy shrineD
The silver bowl the amber flameE
And in the dark where no stars shineD
I speak thy nameE
-
By the high name I call on theeF
Which only I thy priestess knowG
I tread thy dance in ecstasyF
Sweet steps and slowG
-
O God the hour has come AppearH
I have performed the appointed riteI
The dance the fire I long to hearJ
Wings in the nightI
