Easton's Beach Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC DEDE FGFG

LAST night I saw a city by the seaA
Outlined in sparks of fireB
Those wreathed lamps made all a fantasyA
Arch dome and spireC
-
I saw above the waters pale and grayD
The pale moon standE
I heard but faint and sweet and far awayD
A martial bandE
-
The distant voices in the streets the soundF
Of laughter from the towersG
Made where we swam the solitude profoundF
The sea was oursG
